Weather Report, originally written 12.April.1998

[WEATHERMAN is standing in front of a map of Antarctica.]

WEATHERMAN: We're going to enjoy this breath of springtime a little while longer. There's a warm front coming in from Chile that will swoop in from the north and keep the winds down. Temperatures will get up into the minus-twenties. The front will pass over us and move off to the... uh, north by midday tomorrow, which means that those brisk northerly winds you've been feeling the past couple of days will swing around to the..., well, you guessed it, to the north.

As we look at the five-day forecast we see a cold front coming in from the north, and that's going to bring us some snow. Not too much, certainly nothing to cancel your weekend plans over. This system will move off to the north and then we see this one. This is the one we're watching closely. It will move in from the north in the next 72 hours and could bring us substantial amounts of snow before it leaves and passes on up to the north.

A look at the almanac shows that we are right on target temperature-wise for this time of year. And just a reminder that sunset is only 64 days away, so make your picnic plans accordingly.

At the time, I called it "mildly humorous", which is accurate. As it stands, it has some problems, and wears its one joke out fairly quickly. It needs work.
