MUSE > POL*

The Religious Right have been using Democrats as punching bags for... well, in modern political history, and especially since the '92 election and Pat Buchanan's Pitchfork speech. But it wasn't really an issue because even in Republican administrations (or maybe, especially in those administrations, especially Bush 41), the Republican leaders were moderate voices compared to their own. So they sat on the fringe, poked fun, shot spitballs, but weren't a real threat to the American way of life. Those moderate voices have now disappeared.

We are now entering the full bloom and measure of the 1992 Buchanan Culture War and the 1994 Republican Revolution.

* I'm gonna do some musing from time to time... it will be a little random, so I'm going to try to classify them to make it easier on myself later to identify them.

Werd.

The Milboard, as you noticed, went inactive in June. It's such a behemoth to compile, so I've just been culling the raw data from the playlists, so if I can figure out a more automated way to generate it, I'll start publishing it again. I'll probably put the link back up to the chart as it is now once I get the sidebar built up. I spent most of Sunday reorganizing my bookmarks (after several months of neglected and scores upon scores of them in a catch-all "New Links" folder. My bookmarks are really something like a work of art right now.

Thanks for continuing to check in... more than I can say for myself, who hadn't read your LJ in a couple of months (bad Jason).
