What's Left is Right

This is probably the first significant victory of a traditionally left-leaning ideological movement since the Bush-43 re-election: The Washington Post reports today on a movement of evangelical Christian groups into the pro-environmentalist camp.

These groups are the first of what may become a trend among the strict-interpreters of the Bible movement, who were arguably at the center of the grass-roots movement widely touted for its influence in giving Bush a second term. If these groups are genuine in their new-found concern for the environment, it's not only a repudiation of Bush's pro-industry, anti-environment policies, but also confirms what us "tree-hugging" leftists have been saying for decades.

The label "tree-hugging rightists" doesn't have the same ring to it, though. Need to think of something different...
