Before we were so rudely interrupted...

On Tuesday, June 28, my plan was to go to the Nats game w/ Linc, then come back & write about what would assuredly be another stunning Nats victory, then write about the trip Jenn and I had just returned from. Other shit got in the way of that.

I'll go into some detail about our mini-vaca soon, but the brief outline is this: on Thursday June (what the hell was it? [counts on fingers]) 23rd, Jenn and I went to PA to visit my mom (not your mom), spend a day at HersheyPark, visit with the bro & his wife, then go see DMB @ HersheyPark Stadium. And the plan went off without a hitch.

It really was a fantastic weekend. Jenn and I managed to leave the stress of our lives back in DC and truly enjoyed the weekend. Friday was HersheyPark, where I haven't been since August of '01, so there were a few new things, include Storm Runner, the first roller coaster that I can honestly say almost got the better of me. With the way we planned when we ate, where we went and at what point in the day we got to the water rides, it all worked out perfectly, and by the time we were headed out of the park at 8:00 that night, we were thoroughly pleased with the experience. Saturday we visited with Lincoln and Amanda, wherein he grilled some stuff for us, we ate it, and had a generally good time of it. Afterwards, Jenn and I went back to Hershey to see DMB. Aside from issues I have with how Hershey runs its overflow lot (not free, in a field, no traffic direction, two hours to get out of the lot) and the fact that Dave & Co. didn't play "Old Dirt Road," it was also a mighty fine time. After the concert, I took Jenn to Clarks' Ferry, and the truck stop there that was a mainstay of my trips to & from Susquehanna back in the day. It is as I remember it - a true-blue truck stop, with true-blue truck stop good-cookin'.

Sunday we came back, and she went out to Nissan to see DMB down there, where they also did not play "Old Dirt Road". We're going to Red Rocks in September. Maybe I'll get to see it then.

Anyhoo, those are the highlights of the trip. If I have more to say about it, I will. If not, you can safely deduce that I won't.
