This is the part where Scooter says, "30 seconds to curtain, Mr. Milner!"

It was bound to happen sooner or later. The future is now. Milner set up a blog for himself. There are two reasons why I've chosen now to add my voice to the cacophony of thought that's already out on the web.

1) I can't sit by, after the tragic events of November 2, 2004. I have to start sharpening my own thought, my own reasoning now. The next four years of the history of this country will be momentous, and possibly not in a good way. I don't want to be a gloom-and-doom liberal. It would make it too easy for the Right to dismiss me. I have to do this so I have some clear concept of where we are headed.

2) I have to get back into writing about things in general. I need to write about the stomach flu I just got over this past weekend, and my involvement with Trapped by the Mormons. Maybe not specifically those things, but things like that. My life. Things around my life. People in my life. I'm about to start one of the most amazing adventures in my life - Jennifer and I are moving in together on December 1, and I almost did not have a place for those thoughts to go.

That said, this is not a place for secrets, so secrets shall not be here. This is a place where I write stuff I'm fully aware anyone could find them, and I'm okay with that. There's other places for that other stuff that your prying eyes can't see.

"I'll be right there, Scooter."
