Day Old Plays '05: The Final Crust

As mentioned in an earlier entry, the last Cherry Red event for the foreseeable future, and likely ever, is coming up this weekend: Day Old Plays. An all-star conglomeration of cast, directors, writers and production staff will do the 24-hour boogaloo for alls'y'all Saturday night at 8 and 11 at Warehouse Theater.

The Post has snatched up this notion and placed this link (the Scott Vogel story on page 20 of the Weekend's print edition) on the washingtonpost.com home page (photographic proof!). It's a lovely story. And I'll say it one more time, because it bears repeating: It's a damn shame.

This grizzled, gristled, stroke-addled DOP vet will be there in the seat I've kept warm for myself for the past four-plus years, in the SM booth. Jenn will be there, directing the living hell out of these poor slobs.

And one day, you're going to regret not trying to get in the door. So don't make that mistake.

See you there.
